Meet Daniel Vanderpyl
Hello, I’m Daniel
I am the face behind Venture Seven. I started this company to give Canadian summer camps an opportunity to enhance their outdoor programs. I do this by purposefully addressing common roadblocks to your outdoor programs, and by helping you find simple solutions to those roadblocks.
If you see me at the top of a mountain, you will probably find me enjoying a ginger beer. If you ask me my favourite tree, I will say cedar. And if you take a course that I teach, you will hear at least one awful joke.
I enjoy viewing complex issues with a Systems Thinking lens to encounter innovative and practical ideas. You can count on me being someone who will listen to your situation and go for a walk with you…but I do not like running.
I oversee the Crowsnest Outdoor Leadership Training School (COLTS) in Southwest Alberta, which is a four-month long program that trains summer camp staff to be competent in leading multiple-day, intensive backpacking trips in the Canadian Rockies.
I think the world could be a better place by becoming more like a summer camp. And, I consider the outdoors to be one of the most effective settings for summer camps like yours to make a lasting impact.
Let’s connect,
Daniel Vanderpyl
